Last night the power went out. We scrambled for candles and recharged phones from a battery recharger. But we also rediscovered the joys of conversation by candlelight. And its importance.
I’m involved now in some climate activism, and everywhere I hear that a key to change is conversation. How we learn about our rapidly changing reality, and how we learn to fix, mitigate and adapt to it quickly enough seems critical. As HG Wells said, “Civilisation is in a race between education and catastrophe”.
It is so many years since this blog began as a reflection on experiences of learning and of learning differently. The posts here came from the context of post-graduate study at a university.
The world has changed so much since then and in the turbulence of the world today, I want to ask “how and where are you learning now?”
